Privacy Policy

Last updated 2026-07-27

Happydale is a small studio. We collect the least we can get away with, we do not sell your information, and we do not run advertising networks on this site. This page explains plainly what we hold, why, and how to make us delete it.

01Who we are

This site (happydale.net and its subpages) is published by HappyDale Holding LLC, an Illinois limited liability company. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean HappyDale Holding LLC.

For anything privacy related, including a request to see or delete your data, write to hello@happydale.net. A person reads it.

02What we collect

We only hold information in these situations:

WhatWhen and why
Email address When you sign in to a gated area, ask us something, join a waitlist, or a client project records you as a contact. Used to identify you and to reply.
Password Only for sign-in areas, and only ever stored as a one-way hash. We cannot read your password, and we will never ask you for it.
Phone number Only if you give us one on a form for a project that needs it (for example a quote request). Never required to browse.
Anything you type Messages, notes, and files you submit through a form or a project tool, kept so the tool works and so we can answer you.
Technical logs Our host records ordinary request data (IP address, browser and device type, page requested, timestamp) for security, abuse prevention, and debugging.
Email engagement For email we send you, our provider may record delivery and opens so we know a message arrived. You can ignore or block this with any normal mail client setting.
Analytics Some project pages use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages get read. It is aggregate and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.

We do not collect biometric data, precise location, or government identifiers, and we do not buy personal information from data brokers.

03Cookies

We use cookies for two narrow purposes:

Where Google Analytics runs, it sets its own cookies. Blocking cookies in your browser will not break reading this site, though it will sign you out of any gated area.

04Who else touches the data

We keep the vendor list short, and each one only gets what it needs to do its job. We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone, for any purpose.

ServiceRole
VercelHosting and delivery of this site, plus request logs.
NeonThe managed Postgres database where account and project records live.
Vercel BlobFile and image storage for project tools.
ResendSending transactional and project email on our behalf.
Google AnalyticsAggregate visit statistics on some project pages.
StripePayment processing where a project sells something. Stripe handles card details directly; we never receive or store full card numbers.

We may also disclose information if the law genuinely requires it, or to protect someone's safety or our rights. If that ever happens and we are permitted to tell you, we will.

05How long we keep it

If you ask us to delete your data, we do not keep a shadow copy to get around the request.

06Your choices and rights

Whatever jurisdiction you are in, you can ask us to do all of the following, and we will honour it as a matter of practice rather than making you prove you qualify:

Write to hello@happydale.net. We aim to reply within 30 days. We will never charge you for a reasonable request, and we will not treat you differently for making one.

07Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes. Access to production data is limited to the people who run the studio. No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise: if a breach ever affects your information, we will tell affected people promptly and plainly.

08Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.

09Where data is handled

We operate from the United States and our vendors process data there. If you use the site from outside the US, you are sending your information to the US, where privacy law differs from your home country.

10Projects with their own terms

Some projects hosted here (for example Internal Conflict, the mechanic studio site, and our Discord bot) publish their own privacy notes covering things specific to them. Those supplement this policy. Where a project's own notice is more specific, it governs for that project.

11Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant and affects data we already hold, we will make a reasonable effort to tell affected people directly rather than quietly editing this page.
